 -- You Never Know What You Are Truly Capable Of Doing Until You Try -- Writer and Baker? I have been meaning to share this post with you all since last summer! If you can't tell from all of my blogs, I find joy and peace in writing. I took a creative writing class during my sophomore year of college. Weirdly enough, I was a little apprehensive about taking that course because a majority of it was focused on poetry. I love writing, but I literally can't stand writing poetry. I think it comes down to the fact that I just don't have a knack for it. This being said I do greatly appreciate those who are gifted in this department and am in awe of the beauty they can create with words alone.  Anyways, our final project for this class was to submit one of the pieces we worked on throughout the year to a publisher of our choosing in hopes of being published in a literary journal. Hello and Welcome!!

Let's Get Right Into It!

Hi! My name is Libbey Gionet, the face behind LJays Bakery! Welcome to my first blog where I will discuss everything from my current cookie projects to tips and tricks when it comes to owning your own home bakery business. I am so excited to talk about all things sweets and share a little about myself along the way!

  • I was born and raised in Alaska and still call it my home today!
  • I am currently a Sophomore at the University of Alaska Fairbanks where I am pursuing a degree in Elementary Education!
  • My mom and dad are both educators, my older brother works for the Alaska Department of Public Safety, and our dog Larry works his way around the block multiple times a day! 
  • I own my own small bakery business called "LJays Bakery" in Anchorage, Alaska.
  • I enjoy XC skiing, frequenting the local Starbucks, and of course baking sugar cookies!
