-- Spotlight: Here Comes the Son Baby Shower Cookies --
Happy August!!
I can't believe it is already August and time for school to start again! The summer seemed to speed by. In honor of the conclusion of summer, here are some quick life updates!
Little Life Updates:
- My oceanography class is finally finished! What a relief!
- I ran a 10k! Hurt every step of the way, but wouldn't have expected anything less.
- I just ordered all my books for next semester and am getting prepped for my Junior year at UAF!
- Two more weeks with the girl I nanny! So sad to be done!!
- I will officially be a published author this month! Stay tuned for more on that!
I hope you all had a wonderful summer as well! I feel like Anchorage has had a lot more rainy days this summer than sunny ones. That being said, this baby shower cookie set really brought the sunshine! Each design turned out so adorable. Combine them all together and the cuteness is unmatched! Let's get into it.
-- Here Comes the Son Baby Shower Cookie Highlight --
- THE SUN: The sun cookie was easily one of my favorite's in this particular order. I originally was going to pipe the "base flood background color" (aka the first layer of flooding) white, but I ended up settling on the light blue color. The light blue complemented the other designs in the set and made it seem like the sun was in the sky. I loved the puffy, raised sun rays because they added an extra element of dimension. This cookie was delicious and brought some much-needed sunshine to the city of Anchorage!!

Sunny and Bright!

- ONESIE: This onesie was nothing short of adorable! I love the onesie designs because they are truly a blank canvas. You can go so many directions with them and incorporate a wide range of themes in very creative ways. The more cookies I decorate, the more I believe less is more. Because of this, I decided to flood a simple white t-shirt, blue pants, and a small yellow sun embellishment in the shirt's center. The design was simplistic, yet captivating!
Definitely Darling!

- BABY FOOT: I was just telling someone that the baby foot is one of my favorite cookie designs to make. I don't know what it is, but the "baby foot" design is just so precious! There is actually a funny story (well, not so funny in the moment story) to go along with this design.
- STORY TIME: My mom helps me heat seal all of my cookies at the end of projects and we always discuss which designs are our personal favorites. It is always interesting to see what elements stick out to her versus which ones stick out to me. Anyways, she said she loved the cookies this time around except she didn't understand why all the baby feet had "six toes". I instantly began to panic. I examined all the baby feet cookies and for some reason, my mind kept counting six toes. (Even though there were actually only five) I couldn't seem to figure out how I had miscounted on so many cookies. My stress levels were at an all-time high and I was on the brink of tears when my mom told me she was just kidding!
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 toes!
- BABY HAT: The baby hat was another new design I tried out for this order! I had seen someone on Instagram make a similar hat and I fell in love. Two minutes later, the cutter was in my Etsy cart and then purchased shortly after. All the lines in the design seemed intimidating because if the lined piping isn't straight, the hat doesn't hold a ribbed look. I think they turned out beautiful for my first time trying it! I already have brainstormed so many fun patterns and designs for the baby hat in the future. If you are expecting a little one soon, don't hesitate to reach out!!
Cute Enough to Wear!

- BABY: I was very pleased with the finished product of this design. If you read my last blog post, you will know about my journey with lettering on cookies. The "baby" word really exceeded my expectations and became a nice addition to the whole cookie set. I also loved the flooded yellow background color!
Why is Cursive on Cookies 10x Harder than on Paper?!
*Let's see them all together!! My favorite part!
A Little Light Added to Your Day!
Aren't those cookies just the sweetest things you've ever seen?! Baby shower cookies are some of my favorite orders because they are simply darling, no matter the theme. Despite a rainy-filled summer, I hope these brilliant cookies provided you with a little extra sunshine in your life! Can't wait to update you all again soon. Wishing you all a bright day!!🌞
Love it Libs!!!
