Published Author?

-- You Never Know What You Are Truly Capable Of Doing Until You Try -- Writer and Baker? I have been meaning to share this post with you all since last summer! If you can't tell from all of my blogs, I find joy and peace in writing. I took a creative writing class during my sophomore year of college. Weirdly enough, I was a little apprehensive about taking that course because a majority of it was focused on poetry. I love writing, but I literally can't stand writing poetry. I think it comes down to the fact that I just don't have a knack for it. This being said I do greatly appreciate those who are gifted in this department and am in awe of the beauty they can create with words alone.  Anyways, our final project for this class was to submit one of the pieces we worked on throughout the year to a publisher of our choosing in hopes of being published in a literary journal. At the time, I viewed submitting my work as a check off of my long to-do list. (I couldn't pass the...

Halfway Through February?!

 -- Monthly Check-In --

Busy Month!

When I looked at my calendar today and realized we were already halfway through February I was shocked, to say the least. (Partly because I have a ski race coming up in 15 days and I've skied exactly one time this month. It'll hurt, but can't do much about it at this point haha!) This being said the busiest months are always my favorite! Productivity is high, family time is constant, and goals are accomplished.

I am officially a week ahead in my classes, so I thought I'd take this short time of peace and quiet to share some highlights with you all.

Highlights! Highlights! Highlights!

  • Snowy Walks with Larry: If you had asked me a year ago about my opinions on walking Larry, I probably would've said it was one of my least favorite things to do. However, I now feel like it is a great way to walk away from my work, regroup, and take in some fresh air. Also, Larry is cute so it makes the walk even more enjoyable. Enjoy an adorable picture of Larry in some deep and fluffy snow!

  • Sunny Ski with my Ski Buddy: While we have actually only XC skied once this month, I always enjoy my weekly ski with my ski buddy! Quick catch-up and beautiful sites...what more can you ask for?!

  • Ski for Women: What better way to kick start the month than to dress up and ski at one of the most fun NSAA events! A little tradition with a great group of ladies. Definitely really cold with extremely deep snow, but we are always up for a challenge!

  • Birthday Festivities: My Grandma visited for my birthday which was a fun surprise! February is a big birthday month in our family, so the first week of the month was jam-packed with festivities. Indulged in some much-needed family time with the ones I love the most.

  • Can't Forget about the Cookies: Not going to lie, cookie highlights are my favorite so I saved them for last! Some of these orders are from the end of January, but I still want to share them with you! Cowboys, pets, and Valentine's Day cookies! I have two orders this next week...any guesses on what they might be?

Goodbye for now!

Brief post, but proud of myself for keeping you updated! I am trying really hard to stick to my goal of at least one post a month. Let me know if there is anything specific you want me to talk about here. I am always open to suggestions! Have a restful weekend and bake today a great one!

💜, LJay
